1 And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscorethousandchosenmen, which were warriorsㆍ, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdomagain to Rehoboam.[x]MKJV: And Rehoboam came to Jerusalem and gathered a hundred and eighty thousand chosen warriors from the house of Judah, to fight against Israel, so that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam. 4 Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.[x]MKJV: So says the LORD, You shall not go up nor fight against your brothers. Let every man return to his house. For this thing is done by Me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam. BBE: The Lord has said, You are not to go to war against your brothers: let every man go back to his house, for this thing is my purpose. So they gave ear to the words of the Lord and were turned back from fighting against Jeroboam. KAV: {주}가 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 올라가지 말며 또 너희 형제들과 싸우지 말고 각각 자기 집으로 돌아가라. 이 일은 나로 말미암아 이루어졌느니라, 하라, 하시니라. 이에 그들이 {주}의 말씀들에 순종하고 여로보암을 치러 가던 일에서 돌아왔더라.
4 The Lord has said, You are not to go to war against your brothers: let every man go back to his house, for this thing is my purpose. So they gave ear to the words of the Lord and were turned back from fighting against Jeroboam.
4 여호와의 말씀이 너희는 올라가지 말라 너희 형제와 싸우지 말고 각기 집으로 돌아가라 이 일이 내게로 말미암아 난 것이라 하셨다 하라 하신지라 저희가 여호와의 말씀을 듣고 돌아가고 여로보암을 치러 가지 아니하였더라

14 For the Levites gave up their living-places and their property, and came to Judah and Jerusalem; for Jeroboam and his sons had sent them away, not letting them be priests to the Lord;

16 And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORDGod of Israelcame to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORDGod of their fathers.[x]MKJV: And after them, those who gave their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel, out of all the tribes of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD God of their fathers. 16 And after them, from all the tribes of Israel, all those whose hearts were fixed and true to the Lord, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to make offerings to the Lord, the God of their fathers.
16 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에 마음을 오로지하여 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 구하는 자들이 레위 사람을 따라 예루살렘에 이르러 그 열조의 하나님 여호와께 제사하고자 한지라
17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomonstrong, threeyears: for threeyears they walked in the way of David and Solomon.[x]MKJV: And they made the kingdom of Judah stronger, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong for three years. For three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon. BBE: So they went on increasing the power of the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, strong for three years; and for three years they went in the ways of David and Solomon. 17 So they went on increasing the power of the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, strong for three years; and for three years they went in the ways of David and Solomon.
17 그러므로 삼년 동안 유다 나라를 도와 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암을 강성하게 하였으니 이는 무리가 삼년을 다윗과 솔로몬의 길로 행하였음이더라
18 And Rehoboamtook him Mahalath the daughterㆍ of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, andAbihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;[x]MKJV: And Rehoboam took Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David as a wife for himself, [and] Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse, BBE: And Rehoboam took as his wife Mahalath, the daughter of Jerimoth, the son of David and of Abihail, the daughter of Eliab, the son of Jesse; KAV: ¶ 르호보암이 다윗의 아들 여리못의 딸 마할랏을 취해 아내로 삼았으며 또 이새의 아들 엘리압의 딸 아비하일을 아내로 삼았더니
18 And Rehoboam took as his wife Mahalath, the daughter of Jerimoth, the son of David and of Abihail, the daughter of Eliab, the son of Jesse;

21 Maacah, the daughter of Absalom, was dearer to Rehoboam than all his wives and his servant-wives: (for he had eighteen wives and sixty servant-wives, and was the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.)

22 And RehoboammadeAbijah the son of Maachah the chief, to beruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.[x]MKJV: And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, [to be] ruler among his brothers, in order to make him king. 22 Rehoboam made Abijah, the son of Maacah, chief and ruler among his brothers, for it was his purpose to make him king.
22 마아가의 아들 아비야를 세워 장자를 삼아 형제 중에 머리가 되게 하였으니 이는 저로 왕이 되게 하고자 함이라
23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fencedcity: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desiredmanywives.[x]MKJV: And he dealt wisely and dispersed all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to all the fortified cities. And he gave them food in abundance. And he demanded many wives. BBE: And in his wisdom he had his sons stationed in every walled town through all the lands of Judah and Benjamin; and he gave them a great store of food, and took wives for them. 23 And in his wisdom he had his sons stationed in every walled town through all the lands of Judah and Benjamin; and he gave them a great store of food, and took wives for them.
