1 Now the Philistines got all their army together at Aphek: and the Israelites put their forces in position by the fountain in Jezreel.

2 And the lords of the Philistines went on with their hundreds and their thousands, and David and his men came after with Achish.

3 Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrewshere? And Achishsaid unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fellunto me unto this day?[x]MKJV: And the rulers of the Philistines said, What [are] these Hebrews [doing]? And Achish said to the rulers of the Philistines, Is this not David the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me [these] days, or these] years. And I have not found anything [evil] in him from the day he fell away until today? BBE: Then the rulers of the Philistines said, What are these Hebrews doing here? And Achish said to the rulers of the Philistines, Is this not David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me for a year or two, and I have never seen any wrong in him from the time when he came to me till now? 3 Then the rulers of the Philistines said, What are these Hebrews doing here? And Achish said to the rulers of the Philistines, Is this not David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me for a year or two, and I have never seen any wrong in him from the time when he came to me till now?
3 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 가로되 이 히브리 사람들이 무엇을 하려느냐 아기스가 블레셋 사람의 방백들에게 이르되 이는 이스라엘 왕 사울의 신하 다윗이 아니냐 그가 나와 함께 있은지 여러 날 여러 해로되 그가 망명하여 온 날부터 오늘까지 내가 그의 허물을 보지 못하였노라
4 And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistinessaid unto him, Make this fellowreturn, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?[x]MKJV: And the rulers of the Philistines were angry with him. And the Philistine rulers said to him, Send the man back, and he shall return to his place where you have appointed him. And he shall not go down with us to battle, and shall not become an enemy to us in battle. For with what should he reconcile himself to his master? [Should it] not [be] with the heads of these men? BBE: But the rulers of the Philistines were angry with him, and said to him, Make the man go back to the place you have given him; do not let him go down with us to the fight, or he may be turned against us and be false to us: for how will this man make peace with his lord? will it not be with the heads of these men? KAV: 블레셋 사람들의 통치자들이 그에게 노하니라. 블레셋 사람들의 통치자들이 그에게 이르되, 이 자를 돌려보내어 그가 왕이 그를 위해 정해 준 그의 처소로 다시 가게 하소서. 그가 우리와 함께 싸움터에 내려가게 하지 말지니 그가 싸움터에서 우리의 대적이 될까 염려하나이다. 그가 무엇으로 자기 주인과 화해하리이까? 이 사람들의 머리가 아니니이까? 4 But the rulers of the Philistines were angry with him, and said to him, Make the man go back to the place you have given him; do not let him go down with us to the fight, or he may be turned against us and be false to us: for how will this man make peace with his lord? will it not be with the heads of these men?
4 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 그에게 노한지라 블레셋 방백들이 그에게 이르되 이 사람을 돌려보내어 왕이 그에게 정하신 그 처소로 가게 하소서 그는 우리와 함께 싸움에 내려가지 못하리니 그가 전장에서 우리의 대적이 될까 하나이다 그가 무엇으로 그 주와 다시 화합하리이까 이 사람들의 머리로 하지 아니하겠나이까
5Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saulslew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?[x]MKJV: [Is] not this David, of whom they sang to one another in dances, saying, Saul killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands? BBE: Is this not David, who was named in their songs, when in the dance they said to one another, Saul has put to death thousands, and David tens of thousands? KAV: 그들이 춤추며 서로 노래하여 이르되, 사울이 죽인 자는 수천이요, 다윗은 수만이로다, 하던 자가 이 다윗이 아니니이까? 하니라. 5 Is this not David, who was named in their songs, when in the dance they said to one another, Saul has put to death thousands, and David tens of thousands?
5 그들이 춤추며 창화하여 가로되 사울의 죽인 자는 천천이요 다윗은 만만이로다 하던 이 다윗이 아니니이까
6 Then AchishcalledDavid, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORDliveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the hostisgood in my sight: for I have not foundevil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lordsfavour thee not.[x]MKJV: And Achish called David and said to him, Surely, [as] the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight. For I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me until today. But you are not good in the eyes of the lords. BBE: Then Achish sent for David and said to him, By the living Lord, you are upright, and everything you have done with me in the army has been pleasing to me: I have seen no evil in you from the day when you came to me till now: but still, the lords are not pleased with you. 6 Then Achish sent for David and said to him, By the living Lord, you are upright, and everything you have done with me in the army has been pleasing to me: I have seen no evil in you from the day when you came to me till now: but still, the lords are not pleased with you.
6 아기스가 다윗을 불러 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 사시거니와 네가 정직하여 내게 온 날부터 오늘까지 네게 악이 있음을 보지 못하였으니 나와 함께 군중에 출입하는 것이 나의 소견에는 좋으나 장관들이 너를 좋아하지 아니하니
7 Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displeaseㆍnot the lords of the Philistines.[x]MKJV: And return now, and go in peace so that you do not displease the lords of the Philistines. BBE: So now go back, and go in peace, so that you do not make the lords of the Philistines angry. KAV: 그런즉 이제 너는 돌이켜 평안히 가서 블레셋 사람들의 영주들을 노엽게 하지 말라, 하니라. TSK: displease: nu 22:34

8 And Davidsaid unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not gofight against the enemies of my lord the king?[x]MKJV: And David said to Achish, But what have I done? And what have you found in your servant so long as I have been with you to this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king? BBE: And David said to Achish, But what have I done? what have you seen in your servant while I have been with you till this day, that I may not go and take up arms against those who are now making war on my lord the king? 8 And David said to Achish, But what have I done? what have you seen in your servant while I have been with you till this day, that I may not go and take up arms against those who are now making war on my lord the king?

9 And Achishanswered and said to David, I know that thou artgood in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.[x]MKJV: And Achish answered and said to David, I know that you [are] good in my sight, like an angel of God. But the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle. BBE: And Achish in answer said, It is true that in my eyes you are good, like an angel of God: but still, the rulers of the Philistines have said, He is not to go up with us to the fight. KAV: 아기스가 다윗에게 대답하여 이르되, 네가 내 눈앞에서 [하나님]의 천사같이 선한 줄을 내가 아나 그럼에도 불구하고 블레셋 사람들의 통치자들은 말하기를, 그가 우리와 함께 싸움에 올라가지 못하리라, 하였나니 TSK: as an angel: 2sa 14:17,20, 2sa 19:27, ga 4:14
9 And Achish in answer said, It is true that in my eyes you are good, like an angel of God: but still, the rulers of the Philistines have said, He is not to go up with us to the fight.
9 아기스가 다윗에게 대답하여 가로되 네가 내 목전에 하나님의 사자 같이 선한 것을 내가 아나 블레셋 사람의 방백들은 말하기를 그가 우리와 함께 전장에 올라가지 못하리라 하니
10 Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master'sservants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.[x]MKJV: And now, rise up early in the morning with your master's servants who have come with you. And as soon as you have light, depart. BBE: So get up early in the morning, with the servants of your lord who are with you, and go to the place I have given you, and have no evil design in your heart, for you are good in my eyes; but when there is light enough in the morning, go away. KAV: 그런즉 이제 너와 함께 온 네 주인의 신하들과 더불어 아침에 일찍 일어나라. 너희는 아침에 일찍 일어나 밝거든 곧 떠나라, 하매 TSK: Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master's servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.: 1sa 30:1,2, ge 22:14, ps 37:23,24, 1co 10:13, 2pe 2:9
10 So get up early in the morning, with the servants of your lord who are with you, and go to the place I have given you, and have no evil design in your heart, for you are good in my eyes; but when there is light enough in the morning, go away.
10 그런즉 너는 너와 함께 온 네 주의 신하들로 더불어 새벽에 일어나라 너희는 새벽에 일어나서 밝거든 곧 떠나라
11 So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.[x]MKJV: And David and his men rose up early to leave in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up [to] Jezreel. BBE: So David and his men got up early in the morning to go back to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel. 11 So David and his men got up early in the morning to go back to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
