1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.1 And they sent word to David, saying, The Philistines are fighting against Keilah and taking the grain from the grain-floors.1 혹이 다윗에게 고하여 가로되 보소서 블레셋 사람이 그일라를 쳐서 그 타작마당을 탈취하더이다
2 Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.2 So David, questioning the Lord, said, Am I to go and make an attack on these Philistines? And the Lord said to David, Go and make an attack on the Philistines so that Keilah may be kept from falling into their hands.2 이에 다윗이 여호와께 묻자와 가로되 내가 가서 이 블레셋 사람을 치리이까 여호와께서 다윗에게 이르시되 가서 블레셋 사람을 치고 그일라를 구원하라 하시니
3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?3 And David's men said to him, Even here in Judah we are full of fear: how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?3 다윗의 사람들이 그에게 이르되 보소서 우리가 유다에 있기도 두렵거든 하물며 그일라에 가서 블레셋 사람의 군대를 치는 일이리이까
4 Then David inquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah:; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.4 Then David put the question to the Lord again, and the Lord answering said, Up! go down to Keilah; for I will give the Philistines into your hands.4 다윗이 여호와께 다시 묻자온대 여호와께서 대답하여 가라사대 일어나 그일라로 내려가라 내가 블레셋 사람을 네 손에 붙이리라 하신지라
5 So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.5 So David and his men went to Keilah, and had a fight with the Philistines, and took away their cattle, and put them to the sword with great destruction. So David was the saviour of the people of Keilah.5 다윗과 그의 사람들이 그일라로 가서 블레셋 사람과 싸워 그들을 크게 도륙하고 그들의 가축을 끌어오니라 다윗이 이와 같이 그일라 거민을 구원하니라
6 And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.6 Now when Abiathar, the son of Ahimelech, went in flight to David, he came down to Keilah with the ephod in his hand.6 아히멜렉의 아들 아비아달이 그일라 다윗에게로 도망할 때에 손에 에봇을 가지고 내려왔었더라
7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.7 And news was given to Saul that David had come to Keilah. And Saul said, Now God has given him into my hands; for by going into a walled town with locked doors, he has let himself be shut in.7 다윗이 그일라에 온것을 혹이 사울에게 고하매 사울이 가로되 하나님이 그를 내 손에 붙이셨도다 그가 문과 문빗장이 있는 성에 들어갔으니 갇혔도다
8 And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.8 And Saul sent for all the people to come to the fight, and go down to Keilah to make an attack on David and his men.8 사울이 모든 백성을 군사로 불러 모으고 그일라로 내려가서 다윗과 그의 사람들을 에워싸려 하더니
9 And David knew that Saul secretly practiced mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.9 And it was clear to David that Saul had evil designs against him, and he said to Abiathar the priest, Come here with the ephod.9 다윗이 사울의 자기를 해하려 하는 계교를 알고 제사장 아비아달에게 이르되 에봇을 이리로 가져오라 하고
10 Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.10 Then David said, O Lord, the God of Israel, news has been given to your servant that it is Saul's purpose to come to Keilah and send destruction on the town because of me.10 다윗이 가로되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 사울이 나의 연고로 이 성을 멸하려고 그일라로 내려오기를 꾀한다 함을 주의 종이 분명히 들었나이다
11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.11 And now, is it true, as they have said to me, that Saul is coming? O Lord, the God of Israel, give ear to your servant, and say if these things are so. And the Lord said, He is coming down.11 그일라 사람들이 나를 그의 손에 붙이겠나이까 주의 종의 들은대로 사울이 내려 오겠나이까 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여 원컨대 주의 종에게 일러 주옵소서 여호와께서 가라사대 그가 내려 오리라
12 Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.12 Then David said, Will the men of Keilah give me and my men up to Saul? and the Lord said, They will give you up.12 다윗이 가로되 그일라 사람들이 나와 내 사람들을 사울의 손에 붙이겠나이까 여호와께서 가라사대 그들이 너를 붙이리라
13 Then David and his men, which were about six hundred ㆍ, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.13 Then David and his men, about six hundred of them, went out of Keilah, and got away wherever they were able to go. And Saul, hearing that David had got away from Keilah, did not go there.13 다윗과 그의 사람 육백명 가량이 일어나 그일라를 떠나서 갈 수 있는 곳으로 갔더니 다윗이 그일라에서 피한 것을 혹이 사울에게 고하매 사울이 가기를 그치니라
14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.14 And David kept in the waste land, in safe places, waiting in the hill-country in the waste land of Ziph. And Saul was searching for him every day, but God did not give him up into his hands.14 다윗이 황무지 요새에도 있었고 또 십황무지 산골에도 유하였으므로 사울이 매일 찾되 하나님이 그를 그의 손에 붙이지 아니하시니라
15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.15 And David was full of fear, in the knowledge that Saul had come out to take his life; and David was in the waste land of Ziph, in Horesh.15 다윗이 사울의 자기 생명을 찾으려고 나온 것을 보았으므로 그가 십황무지 수풀에 있었더니
16 And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.16 And Saul's son Jonathan went to David in Horesh, and made his hands strong in God;16 사울의 아들 요나단이 일어나 수풀에 들어가서 다윗에게 이르러 그로 하나님을 힘있게 의지하게 하였는데
17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.17 And said to him, Have no fear, for Saul my father will not get you into his power; and you will be king of Israel, and I will be by your side, and my father Saul is certain of this.17 곧 요나단이 그에게 이르기를 두려워 말라 내 부친 사울의 손이 네게 미치지 못할 것이요 너는 이스라엘 왕이 되고 나는 네 다음이 될 것을 내 부친 사울도 안다 하니라
18 And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.18 And the two of them made an agreement before the Lord: and David went on living in Horesh, and Jonathan went back to his house.18 두 사람이 여호와 앞에서 언약하고 다윗은 수풀에 거하고 요나단은 자기 집으로 돌아가니라
19 Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?19 Then the Ziphites came up to Gibeah to see Saul, and said, Is not David living secretly among us in the strong places in Horesh, in the hill of Hachilah to the south of the waste land?19 때에 십 사람들이 기브아에 이르러 사울에게 나아와 가로되 다윗이 우리와 함께 광야 남편 하길라산 수풀 요새에 숨지 아니하였나이까
20 Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king's hand.20 So now, O king, have your soul's desire and come down, and we, for our part, will give him up into the king's hands.20 그러하온즉 왕은 내려오시기를 원하시는대로 내려 오소서 그를 왕의 손에 붙일 것이 우리의 의무니이다
21 And Saul said, Blessed be ye of the LORD; for ye have compassion on me.21 And Saul said, The Lord's blessing will be yours, for you have had pity on me.21 사울이 가로되 너희가 나를 긍휼히 여겼으니 여호와께 복 받기를 원하노라
22 Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtly.22 Go now, and take more steps, and see where he is living: for they say that he is expert in deceit.22 혹이 내게 말하기를 그가 심히 공교히 행동한다 하나니 너희는 가서 더 자세히 살펴서 그가 어디 은적하였으며 누가 거기서 그를 보았는지 알아보고
23 See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.23 So take care to get knowledge of all the secret places where he is taking cover, and be certain to come back to me, and I will go with you: and without doubt, if he is anywhere in the land, I will get him, among all the families of Judah.23 그가 숨어 있는 모든 곳을 탐지하고 실상을 내게 회보하라 내가 너희와 함께 가리니 그가 이 땅에 있으면 유다 천천인 중에서 그를 찾아내리라
24 And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.24 And they went back and came to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the waste land of Maon, in the dry land south of the waste land.24 그들이 일어나 사울보다 먼저 십으로 가니라 다윗과 그의 사람들이 광야 남편 마온 황무지 아라바에 있더니
25 Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David: wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.25 And Saul and his men went in search of him. And David had word of it, so he came down to the rock in the waste land of Maon. And Saul, hearing of this, went after David into the waste land of Maon.25 사울과 그의 사람들이 찾으러 온것을 혹이 다윗에게 고하매 이에 다윗이 바위로 내려 마온 황무지에 있더니 사울이 듣고 마온 황무지로 다윗을 따라가서는
26 And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.26 And Saul and his men went on one side of the mountain, and David and his men went on the other: and David's purpose was to get away as quickly as possible, for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men were making a circle round David and his men in order to take them.26 사울이 산 이편으로 가매 다윗과 그의 사람들은 산 저편으로 가며 다윗이 사울을 두려워하여 급히 피하려 하였으니 이는 사울과 그의 사람들이 다윗과 그의 사람들을 에워싸고 잡으려 함이었더라
27 But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.27 But a man came to Saul saying, Be quick and come; for the Philistines have made an attack on the land.27 사자가 사울에게 와서 가로되 급히 오소서 블레셋 사람이 땅을 침로하나이다
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Selahammahlekoth.28 So turning back from going after David, Saul went against the Philistines: so that place was named Sela-hammah-lekoth.28 이에 사울이 다윗 쫓기를 그치고 돌아와서 블레셋 사람을 치러 갔으므로 그 곳을 셀라하마느곳이라 칭하니라
29 And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at Engedi.29 And from there, David went up and took cover in the safe place of En-gedi.29 다윗이 거기서 올라가서 엔게디 요새에 거하니라
