5 And the prophet Gad said to David, Do not go on living in this place but go into the land of Judah. Then David went away and came to the woodland of Hereth.

6 When Saulheard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saulabode in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servantswerestanding about him;)[x]MKJV: And Saul heard that David and the men with him had been discovered. And Saul was staying in Gibeah under the tamarisk tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand. And all his servants were standing about him. 8 That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that showethㆍ me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or showethㆍ unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?[x]MKJV: But all of you have conspired against me, and none of you was revealing [in] my ear when my son cut [a covenant] with the son of Jesse? And not one of you is sorry for me, even [to reveal in my ear that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as today. BBE: That all of you have made designs against me, and not one of you gave me word when my son made an agreement with the son of Jesse, and not one of you has pity for me or has made my eyes open to the fact that my servant has been moved by my son against me, as at this day? 8 너희가 다 공모하여 나를 대적하며 내 아들이 이새의 아들과 맹약하였으되 내게 고발하는 자가 하나도 없고 나를 위하여 슬퍼하거나 내 아들이 내 신하를 선동하여 오늘이라도 매복하였다가 나를 치려 하는것을 내게 고발하는 자가 하나도 없도다
9 Then answeredDoeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jessecoming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.[x]MKJV: And answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. BBE: Then Doeg, the Edomite, who was by the side of the servants of Saul, in answer said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub. 9 Then Doeg, the Edomite, who was by the side of the servants of Saul, in answer said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub.
9 때에 에돔 사람 도엑이 사울의 신하 중에 섰더니 대답하여 가로되 이새의 아들이 놉에 와서 아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉에게 이른것을 내가 보았었는데
10 And he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.[x]MKJV: And he asked of the LORD for him and gave him food and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine. BBE: And he got directions from the Lord for him, and gave him food, and put in his hand the sword of Goliath the Philistine. KAV: 아히멜렉이 그를 위하여 {주}께 묻고 그에게 양식을 주며 블레셋 사람 골리앗의 칼을 주었나이다, 하니라. 10 And he got directions from the Lord for him, and gave him food, and put in his hand the sword of Goliath the Philistine.

11 Then the kingsent to callAhimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father'shouse, the priests that were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.[x]MKJV: And the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests in Nob. And they came, all of them, to the king. BBE: Then the king sent for Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and for all the men of his father's family who were priests in Nob: and they all came to the king. 11 Then the king sent for Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and for all the men of his father's family who were priests in Nob: and they all came to the king.

12 And Saulsaid, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.[x]MKJV: And Saul said, Hear now, you son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I [am], my lord. BBE: And Saul said, Give ear now, O son of Ahitub. And answering he said, Here I am, my lord. 12 And Saul said, Give ear now, O son of Ahitub. And answering he said, Here I am, my lord.

13 And Saulsaid unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?[x]MKJV: And Saul said to him, Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword, and have asked of God for him, that he should rise against me to lie in wait, as at this day? BBE: And Saul said to him, Why have you made designs against me with the son of Jesse, giving him food and a sword and getting directions from the Lord for him, and helping him to take up arms against me, and to be on the watch to make a secret attack on me as he is doing now? 13 And Saul said to him, Why have you made designs against me with the son of Jesse, giving him food and a sword and getting directions from the Lord for him, and helping him to take up arms against me, and to be on the watch to make a secret attack on me as he is doing now?
13 사울이 그에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 이새의 아들과 공모하여 나를 대적하여 그에게 떡과 칼을 주고 그를 위하여 하나님께 물어서 그로 오늘이라도 매복하였다가 나를 치게 하려 하였느뇨
14 Then Ahimelechanswered the king, and said, And who is sofaithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king's son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thine house?[x]MKJV: And Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who [is so] faithful among all your servants as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and [who] goes at your bidding, and who is honorable in your house? BBE: Then Ahimelech answering said to the king, Who among all your servants is so true to you as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and is a captain of your armed men, and has a place of honour in your house? 14 아히멜렉이 왕에게 대답하여 가로되 왕의 모든 신하 중에 다윗 같이 충실한 자가 누구인지요 그는 왕의 사위도 되고 왕의 모신도 되고 왕실에서 존귀한 자가 아니니이까
15 Did I thenbegin to inquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the kingimputeanything unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servantknewnothing of all this, less or more.[x]MKJV: Have I today begun to ask of God for him? Be it far from me. Do not let the king charge a thing to his servant, nor to all the house of my father. For your servant knew nothing of all this, more or less. BBE: Is this the first time I have got directions from God for him? Far be the thought! let the king make no such statement against his servant or my father's family, for your servant has no knowledge, great or small, of this thing. 15 Is this the first time I have got directions from God for him? Far be the thought! let the king make no such statement against his servant or my father's family, for your servant has no knowledge, great or small, of this thing.

16 And the kingsaid, Thou shalt surelydie, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father'shouse.[x]MKJV: And the king said, Ahimelech, you shall surely die, you and all your father's house. BBE: And the king said, You will certainly be put to death, Ahimelech, you and all your father's family. KAV: 왕이 이르되, 아히멜렉아, 네가 반드시 죽을 것이요, 너와 네 아버지의 온 집이 그러하리라, 하니라. 17 And the kingsaid unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not showㆍ it to me. But the servants of the kingwould not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And the king said to the guard that stood around him, Turn and kill the priests of the LORD, because their hand also [is] with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not reveal it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall on the priests of the LORD. BBE: Then the king said to the runners who were waiting near him, Put the priests of the Lord to death; because they are on David's side, and having knowledge of his flight, did not give me word of it. But the king's servants would not put out their hands to make an attack on the Lord's priests. 17 왕이 좌우의 시위자에게 이르되 돌이켜 가서 여호와의 제사장들을 죽이라 그들도 다윗과 합력하였고 또 그들이 다윗의 도망한 것을 알고도 내게 고발치 아니하였음이니라 하나 왕의 신하들이 손을 들어 여호와의 제사장들 죽이기를 싫어한지라
18 And the kingsaid to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomiteturned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that dayfourscore and fivepersons that did wear a linenephod.[x]MKJV: And the king said to Doeg, You turn and fall on the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned and fell on the priests. And on that day he killed eighty-five persons who wore a linen ephod. BBE: Then the king said to Doeg, You are to put the priests to death. And Doeg the Edomite, turning on the priests and attacking them, put to death that day eighty-five men who took up the ephod. 19 And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.[x]MKJV: And he struck Nob, the city of the priests, with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and babes, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword. BBE: And Nob, the town of the priests, he put to the sword, all the men and women, children and babies at the breast, and oxen and asses and sheep. 21 And AbiatharshowedDavid that Saul had slain the LORD'Spriests.[x]MKJV: And Abiathar told David that Saul had slain the LORD's priests. BBE: And gave him the news of how Saul had put to death the Lord's priests. KAV: 아비아달이 사울이 {주}의 제사장들을 죽인 것을 다윗에게 알리매,
21 And gave him the news of how Saul had put to death the Lord's priests.
21 사울이 여호와의 제사장들 죽인 일을 다윗에게 고하매
22 And Davidsaid unto Abiathar, I knewit that day, when Doeg the Edomitewas there, that he would surelytellSaul: I have occasionedthe death of all the persons of thy father'shouse.[x]MKJV: And David said to Abiathar, I knew that day, when Doeg the Edomite [was] there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have caused the death of all the persons of your father's house. BBE: And David said to Abiathar, I was certain that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would take the news to Saul: I am responsible for the lives of all your father's family. 22 And David said to Abiathar, I was certain that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would take the news to Saul: I am responsible for the lives of all your father's family.
22 다윗이 아비아달에게 이르되 그 날에 에돔 사람 도엑이 거기 있기로 그가 반드시 사울에게 고할줄 내가 알았노라 네 아비 집의 모든 사람 죽은 것이 나의 연고로다
23Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my lifeseeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.[x]MKJV: Stay with me, and do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life.
