11 And Saulcast the javelin; for he said, I will smiteDavid even to the wallwith it. And David avoided out of his presencetwice.[x]MKJV: And Saul threw the spear. For he said, I will strike David even to the wall. And David drew back out of his presence twice. BBE: And David said to Saul, Who am I, and what is my father's family in Israel, that I am to be son-in-law to the king? 21 And Saulsaid, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. And Saul said to David a second time, Today you shall be my son-in-law. So Saul said to David, Today you are to become my son-in-law for the second time. And now be the king's son-in-law. 22 And Saul gave his servants orders saying, Have talk with David secretly and say to him, See how the king has delight in you, and how you are loved by all his servants: then be the king's son-in-law.

23 And Saul'sservantsspake those words in the ears of David. And Davidsaid, Seemeth it to you alightthing to be a king's son in law, seeing that I am a poorman, and lightly esteemed?[x]MKJV: And Saul's servants spoke these words in the ears of David. And David said, [Is it a] light [thing] to be a king's son-in-law, since I am a poor man and of little worth? BBE: And Saul's servants said these things to David. And David said, Does it seem to you a small thing to be the king's son-in-law, seeing that I am a poor man, of no great name? 25 And Saulsaid, Thus shall ye say to David, The kingdesireth not any dowry, but an hundredforeskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king'senemies. But Saulthought to make Davidfall by the hand of the Philistines.[x]MKJV: And Saul said, You shall say this to David, The king does not desire any dowry except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. BBE: And Saul said, Then say to David, The king has no desire for any bride-price, but only for the private parts of a hundred Philistines so that the king may get the better of his haters. But it was in Saul's mind that David might come to his end by the hands of the Philistines. 27 Wherefore Davidarose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundredmen; and Davidbrought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saulgave him Michal his daughter to wife.[x]MKJV: And David arose and went forth, he and his men. And [they] killed two hundred men of the Philistines. 27 So David and his men got up and went, and put to death two hundred of the Philistines; and David took their private parts and gave the full number of them to the king, so that he might be the king's son-in-law. And Saul gave him his daughter Michal for his wife.
27 다윗이 일어나서 그 종자와 함께 가서 블레셋 사람 이백명을 죽이고 그 양피를 가져다가 수대로 왕께 드려 왕의 사위가 되고자 하니 사울이 그 딸 미갈을 다윗에게 아내로 주었더라
28 And Saulsaw and knew that the LORDwas with David, and thatMichalSaul'sdaughterloved him.[x]MKJV: And Saul saw and knew that the LORD [was] with David, and that Michal, Saul's daughter, loved him. BBE: And it was clear to Saul that the Lord was with David; and he was loved by all Israel. 29 And Saul's fear of David became all the greater, and he went on hating him, day by day.

30 Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, after they went forth, thatDavid behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by.[x]MKJV: And the rulers of the Philistines came out. And it happened as often as they came out, David acted more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name was very precious. BBE: Then the rulers of the Philistines went out to war: and whenever they went out, David did more wisely than all the other servants of Saul, so that his name became greatly honoured.
