2 When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt findtwomen by Rachel'ssepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?[x]MKJV: When you have departed from me today, then you shall find two men by Rachel's tomb in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah. And they will say to you, The asses which you went to seek are found. And, lo, your father has quit caring for the asses and sorrows for you, saying, What shall I do for my son? BBE: When you have gone away from me today, you will see two men by the resting-place of Rachel's body, in the land of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, The asses which you went in search of have come back, and now your father, caring no longer for the asses, is troubled about you, saying, What am I to do about my son? 3 Then shalt thou go onforward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee threemen going up to God to Bethel, onecarryingthreekids, and anothercarryingthreeloaves of bread, and anothercarrying a bottle of wine:[x]MKJV: And you shall go forward from there, and you shall come to the great tree of Tabor. And there you shall meet three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a skin of wine. 6 And the spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into anotherman.[x]MKJV: And the spirit of the LORD will come powerfully on you, and you shall prophesy with them, and shall be turned into another man. 8 And thou shalt go downbefore me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrificesacrifices of peace offerings: sevendays shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and show thee what thou shalt do.[x]MKJV: And you shall go down before me to Gilgal. And, behold, I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings [and] to sacrifice peace offerings. You shall stay seven days until I come to you and make known to you what you shall do. 9 And it came about, that when he went away from Samuel, God gave him a changed heart: and all those signs took place that day.

12 And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, IsSaul also among the prophets?[x]MKJV: And a man from there answered and said, And who [is] their father? Therefore it became a proverb, [Is] Saul also among the prophets? BBE: And one of the people of that place said in answer, And who is their father? 12 And one of the people of that place said in answer, And who is their father? So it became a common saying, Is even Saul among the prophets?

16 And Saulsaid unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But he did not tell him of the matter of the kingdom of which Samuel spoke. BBE: And Saul, answering him, said, He gave us word that the asses had come back. 16 And Saul, answering him, said, He gave us word that the asses had come back. But he said nothing to him of Samuel's words about the kingdom.

19 And ye have this dayrejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. And they looked for him, but he could not be found. 21 Then he made the tribe of Benjamin come near by families, and the family of the Matrites was taken: and from them, Saul, the son of Kish, was taken: but when they went in search of him he was nowhere to be seen.

22 Therefore they inquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet comethither. And the LORDanswered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff.[x]MKJV: And they inquired of the LORD further, Has the man yet come here? And the LORD answered, Behold, he is hiding himself among the baggage. BBE: So they put another question to the Lord, Is the man present here? 23 And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stoodamong the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.[x]MKJV: And they ran and brought him from there. 23 So they went quickly and made him come out; and when he took his place among the people, he was taller by a head than any of the people.

24 And Samuelsaid to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? 24 And Samuel said to all the people, Do you see the man of the Lord's selection, how there is no other like him among all the people? And all the people with loud cries said, Long life to the king!

25 Then Samueltold the people the manner of the kingdom, and wroteit in a book, and laid itupbefore the LORD. And Samuelsent all the peopleaway, every man to his house.[x]MKJV: Then Samuel told the people the duties of the kingdom, and wrote in a book and laid it up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, each to his house. BBE: Then Samuel gave the people the laws of the kingdom, writing them in a book which he put in a safe place before the Lord. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house. KAV: 이에 사무엘이 왕국의 규범을 백성에게 말하고 책에 그것을 기록하여 {주} 앞에 두고 온 백성을 각각 자기 집으로 보내니라. 26 And Saul also wenthome to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose heartsGod had touched.[x]MKJV: And Saul also went home to Gibeah. And a band of men went with him, whose hearts God had touched. BBE: And Saul went to Gibeah, to his house; and with him went the men of war whose hearts had been touched by God. 27 But the children of Belialsaid, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.[x]MKJV: But the sons of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him and brought him no present. But he was silent. BBE: But certain good-for-nothing persons said, How is this man to be our saviour? And having no respect for him, they gave him no offering.
