15 For he casttwopillars of brass, of eighteenㆍcubitshighapieceㆍ: and a line of twelveㆍcubits did compasseither of them about.[x]MKJV: For he cast two pillars of bronze, eighteen cubits [was] the height of the one pillar. And a line of twelve cubits went around the second pillar. BBE: He it was who made the two brass pillars; the first pillar was eighteen cubits high, and a line of twelve cubits went round it; and the second was the same. 17Andnets of checkerwork, and wreaths of chainwork, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the onechapiter, and seven for the otherchapiter.[x]MKJV: He made gratings, grating work [with] twisted threads of chain-work, for the capitals on the top of the pillars; seven for the one capital, and seven for the other capital. BBE: There were nets of open-work for the crowns on the tops of the pillars, a net of open-work for one and a net of open-work for the other. And two rows were all around on the one grating, to cover the capitals on the top with the pomegranates. And so he did for the other capital. BBE: And he made ornaments of apples; and two lines of apples all round over the network, covering the crowns of the pillars, the two crowns in the same way. And he set up the right pillar and called its name, Jachin. And he set up the left pillar, and called its name, Boaz. And its height [was] five cubits, and a line of thirty cubits went around it.
