1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year that Solomon was king of Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, the building of the Lord's house was started.1 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온지 사백 팔십년이요 솔로몬이 이스라엘 왕이 된지 사년 시브월 곧 이월에 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 전 건축하기를 시작하였더라
2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.2 The house which Solomon made for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.2 솔로몬왕이 여호와를 위하여 건축한 전은 장이 육십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이요 고가 삼십 규빗이며
3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.3 The covered way before the Temple of the house was twenty cubits long, as wide as the house, and ten cubits wide in front of the house.3 전의 성소 앞 낭실의 장은 전의 광과 같이 이십 규빗이요 그 광은 전 앞에서부터 십 규빗이며
4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.4 And for the house he made windows, with network across.4 전을 위하여 붙박이 교창을 내고
5 And against the wall of the house he built chambers ㆍ round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:5 And against the walls all round, and against the walls of the Temple and of the inmost room, he put up wings, with side rooms all round:5 또 전의 벽 곧 성소와 지성소의 벽에 연접하여 돌아가며 다락들을 건축하되 다락마다 돌아가며 골방들을 만들었으니
6 The nethermost chamber ㆍ was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.6 The lowest line of them being five cubits wide, the middle six cubits wide and the third seven cubits; for there was a space all round the outside walls of the house so that the boards supporting the rooms did not have to be fixed in the walls of the house.6 하층 다락의 광은 다섯 규빗이요 중층 다락의 광은 여섯 규빗이요 제 삼층 다락의 광은 일곱 규빗이라 전의 벽 바깥으로 돌아가며 턱을 내어 골방 들보들로 전의 벽에 박히지 않게 하였으며
7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor ax nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.7 (And the stones used in the building of the house were squared at the place where they were cut out; there was no sound of hammer or axe or any iron instrument while they were building the house.)7 이 전은 건축할 때에 돌을 뜨는 곳에서 치석하고 가져다가 건축하였으므로 건축하는 동안에 전 속에서는 방망이나 도끼나 모든 철 연장 소리가 들리지 아니하였으며
8 The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.8 The door to the lowest side rooms was in the right side of the house; and they went up by twisting steps into the middle rooms, and from the middle into the third.8 중층 골방의 문은 전 오른편에 있는데 나사모양 사닥다리로 말미암아 하층에서 중층에 오르고 중층에서 제 삼층에 오르게 하였더라
9 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.9 So he put up the house and made it complete, roofing it with boards of cedar-wood.9 전의 건축이 마치니라 그 전은 백향목 서까래와 널판으로 덮었고
10 And then he built chambers ㆍ against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.10 And he put up the line of side rooms against the walls of the house, fifteen cubits high, resting against the house on boards of cedar-wood.10 또 온 전으로 돌아가며 고가 다섯 규빗 되는 다락방을 건축하되 백향목 들보로 전에 연접하게 하였더라
11 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,11 (And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,11 여호와의 말씀이 솔로몬에게 임하여 가라사대
12 Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:12 About this house which you are building: if you will keep my laws and give effect to my decisions and be guided by my rules, I will give effect to my word which I gave to David your father.12 네가 이제 이 전을 건축하니 네가 만일 내 법도를 따르며 내 율례를 행하며 나의 모든 계명을 지켜 그대로 행하면 내가 네 아비 다윗에게 한 말을 네게 확실히 이룰 것이요
13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.13 And I will be ever among the children of Israel, and will not go away from my people.13 내가 또한 이스라엘 자손 가운데 거하며 내 백성 이스라엘을 버리지 아니하리라 하셨더라
14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.14 So Solomon made the building of the house complete.)14 솔로몬이 전 건축하기를 마치고
15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the ceiling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.15 The walls of the house were covered inside with cedar-wood boards; from the floor to the roof of the house they were covered inside with wood; and the floor was covered with boards of cypress-wood.15 백향목 널판으로 전의 안벽 곧 전 마루에서 천장까지의 벽에 입히고 또 잣나무 널판으로 전 마루를 놓고
16 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.16 And at the back of the house a further space of twenty cubits was shut in with boards of cedar-wood, for the inmost room.16 또 전 뒤편에서부터 이십 규빗 되는 곳에 마루에서 천장까지 백향목 널판으로 가로막아 전의 내소 곧 지성소를 만들었으며
17 And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.17 And the house, that is, the Temple, in front of the holy place was forty cubits long.17 내소 앞에 있는 외소 곧 성소의 장이 사십 규빗이며
18 And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.18 (All the inside of the house was cedar-wood, ornamented with designs of buds and flowers; no stonework was to be seen inside.)18 전 안에 입힌 백향목에는 박과 핀 꽃을 아로새겼고 모두 백향목이라 돌이 보이지 아니하며
19 And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.19 And he made ready an inmost room in the middle of the house, in which to put the ark of the agreement of the Lord.19 여호와의 언약궤를 두기 위하여 전 안에 내소를 예비하였는데
20 And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.20 And the inmost room was twenty cubits square and twenty cubits high, plated over with clear gold, and he made an altar of cedar-wood, plating it with gold.20 그 내소의 속이 장이 이십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이요 고가 이십 규빗이라 정금으로 입혔고 백향목 단에도 입혔더라
21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains ㆍ of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.21 Solomon had all the inside of the house covered with gold, and he put chains of gold across in front of the inmost room, which itself was covered with gold.21 솔로몬이 정금으로 외소 안에 입히고 내소 앞에 금사슬로 건너지르고 내소를 금으로 입히고
22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.22 Plates of gold were put all through the house till it was covered completely (and the altar in the inmost room was all covered with gold).22 온 전을 금으로 입히기를 마치고 내소에 속한 단의 전부를 금으로 입혔더라
23 And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.23 In the inmost room he made two winged beings of olive-wood, ten cubits high;23 내소 안에 감람목으로 두 그룹을 만들었는데 그 고가 각각 십 규빗이라
24 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.24 With outstretched wings five cubits wide; the distance from the edge of one wing to the edge of the other was ten cubits.24 한 그룹의 이 날개는 다섯 규빗이요 저 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 이 날개 끝으로부터 저 날개 끝까지 십 규빗이며
25 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.25 The two winged ones were ten cubits high, of the same size and form.25 다른 그룹도 십 규빗이니 그 두 그룹은 한 척수, 한 모양이요
26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.26 The two of them were ten cubits high.26 이 그룹의 고가 십 규빗이요 저 그룹도 일반이라
27 And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.27 These were placed inside the inner house, their outstretched wings touching the walls of the house, one touching one wall and one the other, while their other wings were touching in the middle.27 솔로몬이 내소 가운데 그룹을 두었으니 그룹들의 날개가 폐었는데 이 그룹의 날개는 이 벽에 닿았고 저 그룹의 날개는 저 벽에 닿았으며 두 날개는 전의 중앙에서 서로 닿았더라
28 And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.28 These winged ones were plated over with gold.28 저가 금으로 그룹에 입혔더라
29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.29 And all the walls of the house inside and out were ornamented with forms of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers.29 내외소 사면 벽에는 모두 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃 형상을 아로새겼고
30 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.30 And the floor of the house was covered with gold, inside and out.30 내외 전 마루에는 금으로 입혔으며
31 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.31 For the way into the inmost room he made doors of olive-wood, the arch and the door supports forming a five-sided opening.31 내소에 들어가는 곳에는 감람목으로 문을 만들었는데 그 문 인방과 문설주는 벽의 오분지 일이요
32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.32 On the olive-wood doors were cut designs of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers, all of them, with the doors, plated with gold.32 감람목으로 만든 그 두 문짝에 그룹과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 곧 그룹들과 종려에 금으로 입혔더라
33 So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.33 Then he made pillars of olive-wood for the way into the Temple; the pillars were square:33 또 외소의 문을 위하여 감람목으로 문설주를 만들었으니 곧 벽의 사분지 일이며
34 And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.34 And two folding doors of cypress-wood, with two leaves.34 그 두 문짝은 잣나무라 이 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었고 저 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었으며
35 And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.35 These were ornamented with designs of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers, plated over with gold.35 그 문짝에 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 그 새긴데 맞게 하였고
36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.36 And the inner space was walled with three lines of squared stones and a line of cedar-wood boards.36 또 다듬은 돌 세켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜로 둘러 안뜰을 만들었더라
37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:37 In the fourth year the base of the house was put in its place, in the month Ziv.37 제 사년 시브월에 여호와의 전 기초를 쌓았고
38 And in the eleventh ㆍ year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the building of the house was complete in every detail, as it had been designed. So he was seven years building it.38 제 십일년 불월 곧 팔월에 그 설계와 식양대로 전이 다 필역되었으니 솔로몬이 전을 건축한 동안이 칠년이었더라
