1 So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.	1 So all Israel was listed by their families; and, truly, they are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel. 9 And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were heads of families, listed by the names of their fathers.	9 또 저의 형제들이라 그 보계대로 계수하면 구백 오십 륙인이니 다 그 집의 족장된 자들이더라
10 And of the priests; Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin,	10 And of the priests: Jedaiah and Jehoiarib and Jachin	10 제사장 중에서는 여다야와 여호야립과 야긴과

13 And their brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.	13 And their brothers, heads of their families, a thousand and seven hundred and sixty: able men, doing the work of the house of God.	13 또 그 형제들이니 그 집의 족장이라 하나님의 전의 일에 수종들 재능이 있는 자가 모두 일천 칠백 륙십인이더라
14 And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;	14 And of the Levites: Shemaiah, the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;	14 레위 사람 중에서는 므라리 자손 스마야니 저는 핫숩의 아들이요 아스리감의 손자요 하사뱌의 증손이며
15 And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;	15 And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah, the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;	15 또 박박갈과 헤레스와 갈랄과 맛다냐니 저는 미가의 아들이요 시그리의 손자요 아삽의 증손이며
16 And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.	16 And Obadiah, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah, the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who were living in the small towns of the Netophathites.	16 또 오바댜니 저는 스마야의 아들이요 갈랄의 손자요 여두둔의 증손이며 또 베레갸니 저는 아사의 아들이요 엘가나의 손자라 느도바 사람의 향리에 거하였더라
17 And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;	17 And the door-keepers: Shallum and Akkub and Talmon and Ahiman and their brothers: Shallum was the chief.	17 문지기는 살룸과 악굽과 달몬과 아히만과 그 형제들이니 살룸은 그 두목이라
18 Who hitherto waited in the king's gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.	18 Up till then they had been at the king's door to the east. They were door-keepers for the tents of the sons of Levi.	18 이 사람들은 전에 왕의 문 동편 곧 레위 자손의 영의 문지기며
19 And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry.	19 And Shallum, the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his family, the Korahites, were responsible for everything which had to be done in connection with the order of worship, keepers of the doors of the Tent; their fathers had had the care of the tents of the Lord, being keepers of the doorway.	19 고라의 증손 에비아삽의 손자 고레의 아들 살룸과 그 종족 형제 곧 고라의 자손이 수종드는 일을 맡아 성막 문들을 지켰으니 그 열조도 여호와의 영을 맡고 그 들어가는 곳을 지켰으며
20 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, and the LORD was with him.	20 In the past Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, had been ruler over them; may the Lord be with him!	20 여호와께서 함께하신 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 옛적에 그 무리를 거느렸고
21 And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.	21 Zechariah, the son of Meshelemiah, was keeper of the door of the Tent of meeting.	21 므셀레먀의 아들 스가랴는 회막 문지기가 되었더라
22 All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve ㆍ. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office.	22 There were two hundred and twelve whose business it was to keep the doorway. These were listed by families in the country places where they were living, whom David and Samuel the seer put in their responsible positions.	22 택함을 입어 문지기 된 자가 모두 이백 열 둘이니 이는 그 향리에서 그 보계대로 계수된 자요 다윗과 선견자 사무엘이 전에 세워서 이 직분을 맡긴 자라
23 So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.	23 So they and their sons had the care of the doors of the house of the Lord, the house of the Tent, as watchers.	23 저희와 그 자손이 그 반열을 좇아 여호와의 전 곧 성막문을 지켰는데
24 In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.	24 There were keepers of the doors on the four sides, to the east, west, north, and south.	24 이 문지기가 동, 서, 남, 북 사방에 섰고
25 And their brethren, which were in their villages, were to come after seven days from time to time with them.	25 And their brothers, in the country places where they were living, were to come in every seven days to be with them from time to time.	25 그 향리에 있는 형제들은 이레마다 와서 함께하니
26 For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.	26 For the four chief door-keepers, who were Levites, had a special position, looking after the rooms and the store-houses of the house of God.	26 이는 문지기의 두목 된 레위 사람 넷이 긴요한 직분을 맡아 하나님의 전 모든 방과 곳간을 지켰음이라
27 And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.	27 Their sleeping-rooms were round the house of God, for they had the care of it, and were responsible for opening it morning by morning.	27 저희는 하나님의 전을 맡은 직분이 있으므로 전 사면에 유하며 아침마다 문을 여는 책임이 있었더라
28 And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale.	28 Certain of them had the care of the vessels used in worship, to keep an account of them when they came in and when they were taken out again.	28 그 중에 어떤 자는 섬기는데 쓰는 기명을 맡아서 그 수효대로 들여가고 수효대로 내어오며
29 Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.	29 And some of them were responsible for the holy things and for the vessels of the holy place, and the meal and the wine and the oil and the perfume and the spices.	29 또 어떤 자는 성소의 기구와 모든 기명과 고운 가루와 포도주와 기름과 유향과 향품을 맡았으며
30 And some of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.	30 And some of the sons of the priests were responsible for crushing the spices.	30 또 제사장의 아들 중에 어떤 자는 향품으로 향기름을 만들었으며
31 And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.	31 And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, the oldest son of Shallum the Korahite, was responsible for cooking the flat cakes.	31 고라 자손 살룸의 장자 맛디댜라 하는 레위 사람은 남비에 지지는 것을 맡았으며
32 And other of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the showbread ㆍ, to prepare it every sabbath.	32 And some of their brothers, sons of the Kohathites, were responsible for the holy bread which was put in order before the Lord, to get it ready every Sabbath.	32 또 그 형제 그핫 자손 중에 어떤 자는 진설하는 떡을 맡아 안식일마다 준비하였더라
33 And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.	33 And these were those who had the ordering of the music and songs, heads of families of the Levites, who were living in the rooms, and were free from other work, for their work went on day and night.	33 또 찬송하는 자가 있으니 곧 레위 족장이라 저희가 골방에 거하여 주야로 자기 직분에 골몰하므로 다른 일은 하지 아니하였더라
34 These chief fathers of the Levites were chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.	34 These were heads of families of the Levites in their generations, chief men; they were living at Jerusalem.	34 이상은 대대로 레위의 족장이요 으뜸이라 예루살렘에 거하였더라
35 And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon ㆍ, Jehiel, whose wife's name was Maachah:	35 And in Gibeon was living the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, whose wife's name was Maacah;	35 기브온의 조상 여이엘은 기브온에 거하였으니 그 아내의 이름은 마아가라
36 And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,	36 And Abdon his oldest son, and Zur and Kish and Baal and Ner and Nadab	36 그 장자는 압돈이요 다음은 술과 기스와 바알과 넬과 나답과
37 And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.	37 And Gedor and Ahio and Zechariah and Mikloth	37 그돌과 아히오와 스가랴와 미글롯이며
38 And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.	38 Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They were living with their brothers in Jerusalem opposite their brothers.	38 미글롯은 시므암을 낳았으니 이 무리도 그 형제로 더불어 서로 대하여 예루살렘에 거하였더라
39 And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.	39 And Ner was the father of Kish; and Kish was the father of Saul; and Saul was the father of Jonathan and Malchi-shua and Abinadab and Eshbaal.	39 넬은 기스를 낳았고 기스는 사울을 낳았고 사울은 요나단과 말기수아와 아비나답과 에스바알을 낳았으며
40 And the son of Jonathan was Meribbaal: and Meribbaal begat Micah.	40 And the son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal was the father of Micah.	40 요나단의 아들은 므립바알이라 므립바알이 미가를 낳았고
41 And the sons of Micah were, Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.	41 And the sons of Micah: Pithon and Melech and Tahrea and Ahaz.	41 미가의 아들들은 비돈과 멜렉과 다레아와 아하스며
42 And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza;	42 And Ahaz was the father of Jarah; and Jarah was the father of Alemeth and Azmaveth and Zimri; and Zimri was the father of Moza.	42 아하스는 야라를 낳았고 야라는 알레멧과 아스마웨ㅅ과 시므리를 낳았고 시므리는 모사를 낳았고
43 And Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.	43 And Moza was the father of Binea; and Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.	43 모사는 비느아를 낳았으며 비느아의 아들은 르바야요 그 아들은 엘르아사요 그 아들은 아셀이며
44 And Azel had six sons, whose names are these, Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.	44 And Azel had five sons, whose names are: Azrikam, his oldest son, and Ishmael and Sheariah and Obadiah and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.	44 아셀이 여섯 아들이 있으니 그 이름은 아스리감과 보그루와 이스마엘과 스아랴와 오바댜와 하난이라 아셀의 아들들이 이러하였더라

King James English

KJ English(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

KJV 영문법

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
