1 And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go outto battle,Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besiegedRabbah. But Davidtarried at Jerusalem. But David was still at Jerusalem. And Joab took Rabbah and made it waste. KAV: 그 해가 지나고 왕들이 싸움에 나갈 때가 되매 요압이 군대의 병력을 거느리고 나가서 암몬 자손의 지방을 피폐하게 하고 또 가서 랍바를 에워쌌으나 다윗은 예루살렘에 머물렀더라. 요압이 랍바를 쳐서 그곳을 멸하매
1 Now in the spring, at the time when kings go out to war, Joab went out at the head of the armed forces and made waste all the land of the Ammonites and put his men in position before Rabbah, shutting it in. But David was still at Jerusalem. And Joab took Rabbah and made it waste.
1 해가 돌아와서 왕들의 출전할 때가 되매 요압이 그 군대를 거느리고 나가서 암몬 자손의 땅을 훼파하고 가서 랍바를 에워싸고 다윗은 예루살렘에 그대로 있더니 요압이 랍바를 쳐서 함락시키매
2 And Davidtook the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there werepreciousstones in it; and it was set upon David'shead: and he brought also exceedingmuchspoil out of the city.[x]MKJV: And David took the crown of their king from off his head and found its weight a talent of gold. And precious stones [were] in it. And it was set on David's head, and he also brought exceeding much spoil out of the city. BBE: And David took the crown of Milcom from off his head; its weight was a talent of gold and it had stones of great price in it; and it was put on David's head, and he took a great store of goods from the town. KAV: 다윗이 그들의 왕의 머리에서 왕관을 빼앗아 무게를 달아 보니 금 일 달란트더라. 그 안에 보석들이 있더라. 다윗이 그것을 머리에 쓰니라. 다윗이 또한 그 도시에서 노략한 물건을 심히 많이 가져오고
2 And David took the crown of Milcom from off his head; its weight was a talent of gold and it had stones of great price in it; and it was put on David's head, and he took a great store of goods from the town.
2 다윗이 그 왕의 머리에서 보석 있는 면류관을 취하여 달아보니 중량이 금 한 달란트라 그 면류관을 자기 머리에 쓰니라 다윗이 또 그 성에서 노략한 물건을 무수히 내어오고
3 And he brought out the people that were in it, and cutthem with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealtDavid with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the peoplereturned to Jerusalem.[x]MKJV: And he brought out the people who [were] in it. And [they] sawed with saws and with sharp tools of iron, and with the axes. And so David did with the cities of the sons of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem. BBE: And he took the people out of the town and put them to work with wood-cutting instruments, and iron grain-crushers, and axes. And this he did to all the towns of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people went back to Jerusalem. KAV: 또 그 안에 있던 백성을 데려다가 톱과 쇠써레와 도끼로 그들을 자르니라. 다윗이 암몬 자손의 모든 도시에 이같이 행하고 온 백성과 함께 예루살렘으로 돌아오니라.
3 And he took the people out of the town and put them to work with wood-cutting instruments, and iron grain-crushers, and axes. And this he did to all the towns of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people went back to Jerusalem.
3 그 가운데 백성을 끌어 내어 톱질과 써레질과 도끼질을 하게 하니라 다윗이 암몬 자손의 모든 성읍을 이같이 하고 모든 백성과 함께 예루살렘으로 돌아오니라
4 And it came to pass after this, that there arosewar at Gezer with the Philistines; at which timeSibbechai the HushathiteslewSippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.[x]MKJV: And it happened after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines. Then Sibbechai the Hushathite killed Sippai, of the children of the giant. And they were humbled. BBE: Now after this there was war with the Philistines at Gezer; then Sibbecai the Hushathite put to death Sippai, one of the offspring of the Rephaim; and they were overcome. KAV: ¶ 이 일 후에 게셀에서 블레셋 사람들과 싸움이 일어났는데 그때에 후사 사람 십브개가 거인 자손에 속한 십배를 죽이고 그들을 정복하였더라.
4 Now after this there was war with the Philistines at Gezer; then Sibbecai the Hushathite put to death Sippai, one of the offspring of the Rephaim; and they were overcome.
4 이 후에 블레셋 사람과 게셀에서 전쟁할 때에 후사 사람 십브개가 장대한 자의 아들 중에 십배를 쳐 죽이매 저희가 항복하였더라
5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of JairslewLahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spearstaffwas like a weaver'sbeam.[x]MKJV: And there was war again with the Philistines. And Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear [was] like a weavers' beam. BBE: And again there was war with the Philistines; and Elhanan, the son of Jair, put to death Lahmi, the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the stem of whose spear was like a cloth-worker's rod. KAV: 또 다시 블레셋 사람들과 싸움이 있었고 야일의 아들 엘하난이 가드 사람 골리앗의 동생 라흐미를 죽였는데 그의 창 자루는 베틀 채 같았더라.
5 And again there was war with the Philistines; and Elhanan, the son of Jair, put to death Lahmi, the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the stem of whose spear was like a cloth-worker's rod.
5 다시 블레셋 사람과 전쟁할 때에 야일의 아들 엘하난이 가드 사람 골리앗의 아우 라흐미를 죽였는데 이 사람의 창자루는 베틀채 같았더라
6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of greatstature, whose fingers and toeswerefour and twenty, sixon each hand, and sixon each foot: and he also was the son of the giant.[x]MKJV: And again there was a battle in Gath, and a man of stature was there, and his fingers and toes [were] twenty-four, six [on each hand] and six [on each foot]. And he also had been born son of the giant. BBE: And again there was war at Gath, where there was a very tall man, who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six fingers on his hands and six toes on his feet; he was one of the offspring of the Rephaim. KAV: 여전히 가드에서 다시 싸움이 있었고 거기에 키 큰 자 하나가 있었는데 그의 손가락과 발가락은 스물네 개로 손과 발마다 여섯 개씩 있더라. 그도 그 거인의 아들이었더라.
6 And again there was war at Gath, where there was a very tall man, who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six fingers on his hands and six toes on his feet; he was one of the offspring of the Rephaim.

7 But when he defiedIsrael, Jonathan the son of ShimeaDavid'sbrotherslew him.[x]MKJV: But he cursed Israel, and Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, killed him. BBE: And when he put shame on Israel, Jonathan, the son of Shimea, David's brother, put him to death. KAV: 그러나 그가 이스라엘에게 도전하므로 다윗의 형 시므아의 아들 요나단이 그를 죽이니라.
