1 Now the Philistinesfought against Israel; and the men of Israelfled from before the Philistines, and fell downslain in mountGilboa.[x]MKJV: And the Philistines fought with Israel. And the men of Israel fled from the face of the Philistines, and fell down dead in Mount Gilboa. BBE: Now the Philistines were fighting against Israel; and the men of Israel went in flight before the Philistines, falling down wounded in Mount Gilboa. KAV: 이제 블레셋 사람들이 이스라엘과 싸웠는데 이스라엘 사람들이 블레셋 사람들 앞에서 도망하여 길보아 산에서 죽임을 당해 쓰러지니라.
1 Now the Philistines were fighting against Israel; and the men of Israel went in flight before the Philistines, falling down wounded in Mount Gilboa.
1 블레셋 사람과 이스라엘이 싸우더니 이스라엘 사람들이 블레셋 사람 앞에서 도망하다가 길보아산에서 죽임을 받고 엎드러지니라

KAV: 싸움이 사울에게 심히 불리하게 되어 활 쏘는 자들이 그를 맞추매 사울이 그 활 쏘는 자들로 인하여 다치니라.

4 Then saidSaul to his armourbearerㆍ, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcisedcome and abuse me. But his armourbearerㆍwould not; for he was soreafraid. So Saultook a sword, and fell upon it.[x]MKJV: And Saul said to his armor-bearer, Draw your sword and pierce me with it, lest these uncircumcised ones come and abuse me. But his armor-bearer would not, for he was very much afraid. So Saul took a sword and fell on it. BBE: Then Saul said to the servant who had the care of his arms, Take your sword and put it through me, before these men without circumcision come and make sport of me. But his servant, full of fear, would not do so. Then Saul took out his sword, falling on it himself. KAV: 이에 사울이 자기의 병기를 드는 자에게 이르되, 네 칼을 빼어 그것으로 나를 찌르라. 이 할례 받지 않은 자들이 와서 나를 능욕할까 염려하노라, 하였으나 그의 병기를 드는 자가 심히 두려워하여 하려 하지 아니하므로 이에 사울이 칼을 취하여 그 위에 쓰러지매
4 Then Saul said to the servant who had the care of his arms, Take your sword and put it through me, before these men without circumcision come and make sport of me. But his servant, full of fear, would not do so. Then Saul took out his sword, falling on it himself.
4 자기의 병기 가진 자에게 이르되 너는 칼을 빼어 나를 찌르라 저 할례 없는 자가 와서 나를 욕되게 할까 두려워하노라 그러나 그 병기 가진 자가 심히 두려워하여 즐겨 행치 아니하매 사울이 자기 칼을 취하고 그 위에 엎드러지니
5 And when his armourbearerㆍsaw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.[x]MKJV: And his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, and he also fell on the sword and died. BBE: And when his servant saw that Saul was dead, he did the same, and came to his death. KAV: 그의 병기를 드는 자가 사울이 죽은 것을 보고 자기도 마찬가지로 칼 위에 쓰러져 죽으니라.

And they left their cities and fled. And the Philistines came and lived in them. BBE: And when all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw that the men of Israel had gone in flight and that Saul and his sons were dead, they went in flight away from their towns; and the Philistines came and took them for themselves. KAV: 골짜기에 있던 이스라엘의 모든 사람들이 그들이 도망한 것과 사울과 그의 아들들이 죽은 것을 보고 자기들의 도시들을 버리고 도망하매 블레셋 사람들이 와서 그 도시들에 거하니라.
7 And when all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw that the men of Israel had gone in flight and that Saul and his sons were dead, they went in flight away from their towns; and the Philistines came and took them for themselves.
7 골짜기에 있는 모든 이스라엘 사람이 저희의 도망한 것과 사울과 그 아들들의 다 죽은 것을 보고 그 성읍들을 버리고 도망하매 블레셋 사람이 와서 거기 거하니라
8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistinescame to strip the slain, that they foundSaul and his sonsfallen in mountGilboa.[x]MKJV: And it happened on the next day, when the Philistines came to strip the dead, and they found Saul and his sons fallen in Mount Gilboa. BBE: Now the day after, when the Philistines came to take their goods from the dead, they saw Saul and his sons dead in Mount Gilboa. KAV: ¶ 그 다음 날 블레셋 사람들이 죽은 자들을 벗기러 왔다가 사울과 그의 아들들이 길보아 산에 쓰러진 것을 보고는
8 Now the day after, when the Philistines came to take their goods from the dead, they saw Saul and his sons dead in Mount Gilboa.
8 이튿날에 블레셋 사람이 와서 죽임을 당한 자를 벗기다가 사울과 그 아들들이 길보아산에 엎드러졌음을 보고
9 And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.[x]MKJV: And they stripped him, and carried his head and his armor, and sent into the land of the Philistines all around, to carry news to their idols and to the people. BBE: And they took everything off him, and took his head and his war-dress, and sent word into the land of the Philistines round about to give the news to their gods and to the people. KAV: 그의 몸을 벗기고 그의 머리와 갑옷을 취한 뒤 블레셋 사람들의 땅 사방에 보내어 자기들의 우상들과 백성에게 소식을 전하게 하며
9 And they took everything off him, and took his head and his war-dress, and sent word into the land of the Philistines round about to give the news to their gods and to the people.
9 곧 사울을 벗기고 그 머리와 갑옷을 취하고 사람을 블레셋 땅 사방에 보내어 모든 우상과 뭇 백성에게 광포하게 하고

12 They arose, all the valiantmen, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fastedsevendays.[x]MKJV: And all the mighty men arose and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh. And they buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days. BBE: All the fighting-men came up and took away Saul's body and the bodies of his sons, and took them to Jabesh, and put their bones to rest under the oak-tree in Jabesh, and took no food for seven days. KAV: 그들 곧 모든 용맹한 자들이 일어나 사울의 몸과 그의 아들들의 몸을 취하여 야베스로 가져다가 야베스에 있는 상수리나무 밑에 그들의 뼈를 묻고 이레 동안 금식하였더라.
12 All the fighting-men came up and took away Saul's body and the bodies of his sons, and took them to Jabesh, and put their bones to rest under the oak-tree in Jabesh, and took no food for seven days.
12 용사들이 다 일어나서 사울의 시체와 그 아들들의 시체를 취하여 야베스로 가져다가 그곳 상수리나무 아래 그 해골을 장사하고 칠일을 금식하였더라
13 So Sauldied for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for askingcounsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquireof it;[x]MKJV: And Saul died for his sin which he committed against the LORD, against the word of the LORD, which he did not keep, and also for seeking of a medium, to inquire, and BBE: So death came to Saul because of the sin which he did against the Lord, that is, because of the word of the Lord which he kept not; and because he went for directions to one who had an evil spirit, KAV: ¶ 이같이 사울은 그가 {주}께 범한 범죄로 인해 죽었더라. 그가 {주}의 말씀을 거역하여 지키지 아니하였으며 또 부리는 영을 지닌 자에게 조언을 구하기 위해 그 영에게 묻고
13 So death came to Saul because of the sin which he did against the Lord, that is, because of the word of the Lord which he kept not; and because he went for directions to one who had an evil spirit,
13 사울의 죽은 것은 여호와께 범죄하였음이라 저가 여호와의 말씀을 지키지 아니하고 또 신접한 자에게 가르치기를 청하고
14 And inquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.[x]MKJV: inquired not of the LORD. And He killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse. BBE: And not to the Lord: for this reason, he put him to death and gave the kingdom to David, the son of Jesse. KAV: {주}께 여쭙지 아니하였으므로 그분께서 그를 죽이시고 왕국을 이새의 아들 다윗에게 넘기셨더라.
