KJV BBE KRV
And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.1 Then there was a great outcry from the people and their wives against their countrymen the Jews.1 때에 백성이 그 아내와 함께 크게 부르짖어 그 형제 유다 사람을 원망하는데
For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.2 For there were some who said, We, our sons and our daughters, are a great number: let us get grain, so that we may have food for our needs.2 혹은 말하기를 우리와 우리 자녀가 많으니 곡식을 얻어 먹고 살아야 하겠다 하고
Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.3 And there were some who said, We are giving our fields and our vine-gardens and our houses for debt: let us get grain because we are in need.3 혹은 말하기를 우리의 밭과 포도원과 집이라도 전당 잡히고 이 흉년을 위하여 곡식을 얻자 하고
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.4 And there were others who said, We have given up our fields and our vine-gardens to get money for the king's taxes.4 혹은 말하기를 우리는 밭과 포도원으로 돈을 빚내어 세금을 바쳤도다
Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.5 But our flesh is the same as the flesh of our countrymen, and our children as their children: and now we are giving our sons and daughters into the hands of others, to be their servants, and some of our daughters are servants even now: and we have no power to put a stop to it; for other men have our fields and our vine-gardens.5 우리 육체도 우리 형제의 육체와 같고 우리 자녀도 저희 자녀 같거늘 이제 우리 자녀를 종으로 파는도다 우리 딸 중에 벌써 종된 자가 있으나 우리의 밭과 포도원이 이미 남의 것이 되었으니 속량할 힘이 없도다
And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.6 And on hearing their outcry and what they said I was very angry.6 내가 백성의 부르짖음과 이런 말을 듣고 크게 노하여
Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.7 And after turning it over in my mind, I made a protest to the chiefs and the rulers, and said to them, Every one of you is taking interest from his countryman. And I got together a great meeting of protest.7 중심에 계획하고 귀인과 민장을 꾸짖어 이르기를 너희가 각기 형제에게 취리를 하는도다 하고 대회를 열고 저희를 쳐서
And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.8 And I said to them, We have given whatever we were able to give, to make our brothers the Jews free, who were servants and prisoners of the nations: and would you now give up your brothers for a price, and are they to become our property? Then they said nothing, answering not a word.8 이르기를 우리는 이방인의 손에 팔린 우리 형제 유다 사람들을 우리의 힘을 다하여 속량하였거늘 너희는 너희 형제를 팔고자 하느냐 더구나 우리의 손에 팔리게 하겠느냐 하매 저희가 잠잠하여 말이 없기로
Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?9 And I said, What you are doing is not good: is it not the more necessary for you to go in the fear of our God, because of the shame which the nations may put on us?9 내가 또 이르기를 너희의 소위가 좋지 못하도다 우리 대적 이방 사람의 비방을 생각하고 우리 하나님을 경외함에 행할 것이 아니냐
I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.10 Even I and my servants have been taking interest for the money and the grain we have let them have. So now, let us give up this thing.10 나와 내 형제와 종자들도 역시 돈과 곡식을 백성에게 취하여 주나니 우리가 그 이식 받기를 그치자
Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.11 Give back to them this very day their fields, their vine-gardens, their olive-gardens, and their houses, as well as a hundredth part of the money and the grain and the wine and the oil which you have taken from them.11 그런즉 너희는 오늘이라도 그 밭과 포도원과 감람원과 집이며 취한바 돈이나 곡식이나 새 포도주나 기름의 백분지 일을 돌려 보내라 하였더니
Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.12 Then they said, We will give them back, and take nothing for them; we will do as you say. Then I sent for the priests and made them take an oath that they would keep this agreement.12 저희가 말하기를 우리가 당신의 말씀대로 행하여 돌려 보내고 아무 것도 요구하지 아니하리이다 하기로 내가 제사장들을 불러 저희에게 그 말대로 행하리라는 맹세를 시키게 하고
Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.13 And shaking out the folds of my robe, I said, So may God send out from his house and his work every man who does not keep this agreement; even so let him be sent out and made as nothing. And all the meeting of the people said, So be it, and gave praise to the Lord. And the people did as they had said.13 내가 옷자락을 떨치며 이르기를 이 말대로 행치 아니하는 자는 하나님이 또한 이와 같이 그 집과 산업에서 떨치실찌니 저는 곧 이렇게 떨쳐져 빌찌로다 하매 회중이 다 아멘 하고 여호와를 찬송하고 백성들이 그 말한대로 행하였느니라
Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.14 Now from the time when I was made ruler of the people in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year till the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes the king, for twelve years, I and my servants have never taken the food which was the right of the ruler.14 내가 유다 땅 총독으로 세움을 받은 때 곧 아닥사스다왕 이십년부터 삼십 이년까지 십 이년 동안은 나와 내 형제가 총독의 녹을 먹지 아니하였느니라
But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.15 But earlier rulers who were before me made the people responsible for their upkeep, and took from them bread and wine at the rate of forty shekels of silver; and even their servants were lords over the people: but I did not do so, because of the fear of God.15 이전 총독들은 백성에게 토색하여 양식과 포도주와 또 은 사십 세겔을 취하였고 그 종자들도 백성을 압제하였으나 나는 하나님을 경외하므로 이같이 행치 아니하고
Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work.16 And I kept on with the work of this wall, and we got no land for ourselves: and all my servants were helping with the work.16 도리어 이 성 역사에 힘을 다하며 땅을 사지 아니하였고 나의 모든 종자도 모여서 역사를 하였으며
Moreover there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that are about us.17 And more than this, a hundred and fifty of the Jews and the rulers were guests at my table, in addition to those who came to us from the nations round about us.17 또 내 상에는 유다 사람들과 민장들 일백 오십인이 있고 그 외에도 우리 사면 이방인 중에서 우리에게 나아온 자들이 있었는데
Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people.18 Now the food made ready for one day was one ox and six fat sheep, as well as fowls; and once in ten days a store of all sorts of wine: but all the same, I did not take the food to which the ruler had a right, because the people were crushed under a hard yoke.18 매일 나를 위하여 소 하나와 살진 양 여섯을 준비하며 닭도 많이 준비하고 열흘에 한번씩은 각종 포도주를 갖추었나니 비록 이같이 하였을찌라도 내가 총독의 녹을 요구하지 아니하였음은 백성의 부역이 중함이니라
Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.19 Keep in mind, O my God, for my good, all I have done for this people.19 내 하나님이여 내가 이 백성을 위하여 행한 모든 일을 생각하시고 내게 은혜를 베푸시옵소서
