1 That night the king was unable to get any sleep; and he sent for the books of the records; and while some one was reading them to the king,

2 And it was foundwritten, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king'schamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to layhand on the kingAhasuerus.[x]MKJV: And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, the keepers of the door who tried to lay a hand on King Ahasuerus. 2 It came out that it was recorded in the book how Mordecai had given word of the designs of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's servants, keepers of the door, by whom an attack on the king had been designed.
2 그 속에 기록하기를 문 지킨 왕의 두 내시 빅다나와 데레스가 아하수에로왕을 모살하려 하는 것을 모르드개가 고발하였다 하였는지라
3 And the kingsaid, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king'sservants that ministered unto him, There is nothingdone for him.[x]MKJV: And the king said, What honor and dignity has been done to Mordecai for this? 3 And the king said, What honour and reward have been given to Mordecai for this? Then the servants who were waiting on the king said, Nothing has been done for him.
3 왕이 가로되 이 일을 인하여 무슨 존귀와 관작을 모르드개에게 베풀었느냐 시신이 대답하되 아무 것도 베풀지 아니 하였나이다
4 And the kingsaid, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outwardcourt of the king'shouse, to speak unto the king to hangMordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.[x]MKJV: And the king said, Who [is] in the court? And Haman had come into the outer court of the king's house to speak to the king to hang Mordecai on the wooden [gallows] which he had prepared for him. BBE: Then the king said, Who is in the outer room? Now Haman had come into the outer room to get the king's authority for the hanging of Mordecai on the pillar which he had made ready for him. 4 Then the king said, Who is in the outer room? Now Haman had come into the outer room to get the king's authority for the hanging of Mordecai on the pillar which he had made ready for him.
4 왕이 가로되 누가 뜰에 있느냐 마침 하만이 자기가 세운 나무에 모르드개 달기를 왕께 구하고자 하여 왕궁 바깥 뜰에 이른지라
5 And the king'sservantssaid unto him, Behold, Hamanstandeth in the court. And the kingsaid, Let him come in.[x]MKJV: And the king's servants said to him, Behold, Haman stands in the court. 5 And the king's servants said to him, See, Haman is waiting in the outer room. And the king said, Let him come in.
5 시신이 고하되 하만이 뜰에 섰나이다 왕이 가로되 들어 오게 하라 하니
6 So Haman came in. And the kingsaid unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the kingdelighteth to honour? Now Hamanthought in his heart, To whom would the kingdelight to dohonourmore than to myself?[x]MKJV: So Haman came in. And the king said to him, What shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor? And Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself? BBE: So Haman came in. And the king said to him, What is to be done to the man whom the king has delight in honouring? Then the thought came into Haman's mind, Whom, more than myself, would the king have pleasure in honouring? 7 And Hamananswered the king, For the man whom the kingdelighteth to honour,[x]MKJV: And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delights to honor, BBE: And Haman, answering the king, said, For the man whom the king has delight in honouring, KAV: 왕께 대답하되, 왕께서 존귀하게 하기를 기뻐하시는 그 사람을 위해 TSK: whom the king, etc: es 6:9,11
7 And Haman, answering the king, said, For the man whom the king has delight in honouring,

8 Let the royalapparel be brought which the kinguseth to wear, and the horse that the kingrideth upon, and the crownroyal which is set upon his head:[x]MKJV: let the royal clothing be brought, which the king wears, and the horse that the king rides on, and the royal crown which is set on his head. 9 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most nobleprinces, that they may array the manwithal whom the kingdelighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimbefore him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the kingdelighteth to honour.[x]MKJV: And let this clothing and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes so that they may dress the man whom the king delights to honor, and bring him on horseback through the streets of the city, and proclaim before him, This is what shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor. 9 And let the robes and the horse be given to one of the king's most noble captains, so that they may put them on the man whom the king has delight in honouring, and let him go on horseback through the streets of the town, with men crying out before him, So let it be done to the man whom the king has delight in honouring.
9 그 왕복과 말을 왕의 방백 중 가장 존귀한 자의 손에 붙여서 왕이 존귀케 하시기를 기뻐하시는 사람에게 옷을 입히고 말을 태워서 성중 거리로 다니며 그 앞에서 반포하여 이르기를 왕이 존귀케 하기를 기뻐하시는 사람에게는 이같이 할것이라 하게 하소서
10 Then the kingsaid to Haman, Make haste, andtake the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king'sgate: let nothingfail of all that thou hast spoken.[x]MKJV: And the king said to Haman, Make haste! Take the clothing and the horse, as you have said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king's gate. Do not fail to do any of all the things you have spoken. BBE: Then the king said to Haman, Go quickly, and take the robes and the horse, as you have said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, who is seated at the king's doorway: see that you do everything as you have said. 10 Then the king said to Haman, Go quickly, and take the robes and the horse, as you have said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, who is seated at the king's doorway: see that you do everything as you have said.
10 이에 왕이 하만에게 이르되 너는 네 말대로 속히 왕복과 말을 취하여 대궐 문에 앉은 유다 사람 모르드개에게 행하되 무릇 네가 말한 것에서 조금도 빠짐이 없이 하라
11 Then tookHaman the apparel and the horse, and arrayedMordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimedbefore him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the kingdelighteth to honour.[x]MKJV: And Haman took the clothing and the horse and dressed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, This is what shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor! BBE: Then Haman took the robes and the horse, and dressing Mordecai in the robes, he made him go on horseback through the streets of the town, crying out before him, So let it be done to the man whom the king has delight in honouring. 11 Then Haman took the robes and the horse, and dressing Mordecai in the robes, he made him go on horseback through the streets of the town, crying out before him, So let it be done to the man whom the king has delight in honouring.
11 하만이 왕복과 말을 취하여 모르드개에게 옷을 입히고 말을 태워 성중 거리로 다니며 그 앞에서 반포하되 왕이 존귀케 하시기를 기뻐하시는 사람에게는 이같이 할 것이라 하니라
12 And Mordecai came again to the king'sgate. But Hamanhasted to his housemourning, and having his headcovered.[x]MKJV: And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hurried to his house mourning, and having [his] head covered. BBE: And Mordecai came back to the king's doorway. But Haman went quickly back to his house, sad and with his head covered. 12 And Mordecai came back to the king's doorway. But Haman went quickly back to his house, sad and with his head covered.
12 모르드개는 다시 대궐 문으로 돌아오고 하만은 번뇌하여 머리를 싸고 급히 집으로 돌아와서
13 And HamantoldZeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecaibe of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surelyfallbefore him.[x]MKJV: And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every [thing] that had happened to him. Then his wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him, If Mordecai is of the seed of the Jews, before whom you have begun to fall, you shall not prevail against him but shall surely fall before him. BBE: And Haman gave his wife Zeresh and all his friends an account of what had taken place. Then his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, If Mordecai, who is starting to get the better of you, is of the seed of the Jews, you will not be able to do anything against him, but you will certainly go down before him. KAV: 자기에게 임한 모든 일을 자기 아내 세레스와 자기의 모든 친구에게 고하매 그에게 속한 지혜로운 자들과 그의 아내 세레스가 그에게 이르되, 모르드개가 유대인들의 씨라면 당신이 그 앞에서 쓰러지기 시작하였으니 당신이 능히 그를 이기지 못하고 분명히 그 앞에 쓰러지리이다, 하니라. 13 자기의 당한 모든 일을 그 아내 세레스와 모든 친구에게 고하매 그 중 지혜로운 자와 그 아내 세레스가 가로되 모르드개가 과연 유다 족속이면 당신이 그 앞에서 굴욕을 당하기 시작하였으니 능히 저를 이기지 못하고 분명히 그 앞에 엎드러지리이다
14 And while they were yet talking with him, came the king'schamberlains, and hasted to bringHaman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared.[x]MKJV: And while they [were] still talking with him, the king's eunuchs came. And they hurried to bring Haman to the banquet which Esther had prepared. BBE: While they were still talking, the king's servants came to take Haman to the feast which Esther had made ready. 14 While they were still talking, the king's servants came to take Haman to the feast which Esther had made ready.
