1 Now it came to pass on the thirdday, that Esther put onherroyalapparel, and stood in the innercourt of the king'shouse, over against the king'shouse: and the kingsat upon his royalthrone in the royalhouse, over against the gate of the house.[x]MKJV: And it happened on the third day, Esther put on royal [clothing], and stood in the inner court of the king's house, across from the king's house. And the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, across from the gate of the house. 1 Now on the third day, Esther put on her queen's robes, and took her place in the inner room of the king's house, facing the king's house: and the king was seated on his high seat in the king's house, facing the doorway of the house.
1 제 삼일에 에스더가 왕후의 예복을 입고 왕궁 안 뜰 곧 어전 맞은편에 서니 왕이 어전에서 전 문을 대하여 보좌에 앉았다가
2 And it was so, when the kingsawEsther the queenstanding in the court, that she obtainedfavour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the goldensceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.[x]MKJV: And it happened when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she received favor [in] his sight. And the king held out to Esther the golden scepter in his hand. And Esther drew near and touched the top of the scepter. BBE: And when the king saw Esther the queen waiting in the inner room, looking kindly on her he put out the rod of gold in his hand to her. 2 And when the king saw Esther the queen waiting in the inner room, looking kindly on her he put out the rod of gold in his hand to her. So Esther came near and put her fingers on the top of the rod.
2 왕후 에스더가 뜰에 선 것을 본즉 심히 사랑스러우므로 손에 잡았던 금홀을 그에게 내어미니 에스더가 가까이 가서 금홀 끝을 만진지라
3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queenEsther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.[x]MKJV: And the king said to her, What do you [desire], queen Esther? And what [is] your wish? It shall be given to you even to half of the kingdom. BBE: Then the king said, What is your desire, Queen Esther, and what is your request? I will give it to you, even to the half of my kingdom. 3 Then the king said, What is your desire, Queen Esther, and what is your request? I will give it to you, even to the half of my kingdom.
3 왕이 이르되 왕후 에스더여 그대의 소원이 무엇이며 요구가 무엇이뇨 나라의 절반이라도 그대에게 주겠노라
4 And Estheranswered, If it seemgood unto the king, let the king and Hamancome this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.[x]MKJV: And Esther answered, If [it is] good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet which I have prepared for him. BBE: And Esther in answer said, If it seems good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the feast which I have made ready for him. 4 And Esther in answer said, If it seems good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the feast which I have made ready for him.
4 에스더가 가로되 오늘 내가 왕을 위하여 잔치를 베풀었사오니 왕이 선히 여기시거든 하만과 함께 임하소서
5 Then the kingsaid, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Hamancame to the banquet that Esther had prepared.[x]MKJV: And the king said, Cause Haman to hurry so that he may do as Esther has said. And the king and Haman came to the banquet which Esther had prepared. BBE: Then the king said, Let Haman come quickly, so that what Esther has said may be done. So the king and Haman came to the feast which Esther had made ready. KAV: 그때에 왕이 이르되, 하만이 에스더가 말한 대로 행하도록 그를 급히 부르라, 하고 이에 왕과 하만이 에스더가 베푼 잔치에 나아가니라. TSK: Cause Haman: es 6:14
5 Then the king said, Let Haman come quickly, so that what Esther has said may be done. So the king and Haman came to the feast which Esther had made ready.
5 왕이 가로되 에스더의 말한대로 하도록 하만을 급히 부르라 하고 이에 왕이 하만과 함께 에스더의 베푼 잔치에 나아가니라
6 And the kingsaid unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.[x]MKJV: And the king said to Esther at the banquet of wine, What [is] your petition that it shall be granted to you? And what [is] your request? It shall be performed even to half of the kingdom. BBE: And while they were drinking wine the king said to Esther, What is your prayer? for it will be given to you and what is your request? for it will be done, even to the half of my kingdom. KAV: ¶ 포도주 잔치에서 왕이 에스더에게 이르되, 그대의 청원이 무엇이냐? 그대에게 허락하겠노라. 그대의 요구가 무엇이냐? 왕국의 절반이라도 시행하겠노라, 하니 TSK: the king said: es 5:3, es 7:2, es 9:12
6 And while they were drinking wine the king said to Esther, What is your prayer? for it will be given to you and what is your request? for it will be done, even to the half of my kingdom.
6 잔치의 술을 마실 때에 왕이 에스더에게 이르되 그대의 소청이 무엇이뇨 곧 허락하겠노라 그대의 요구가 무엇이뇨 나라의 절반이라 할찌라도 시행하겠노라
7 Then answeredEsther, and said, My petition and my requestis;[x]MKJV: And Esther answered and said, [As to] my petition and my request, BBE: Then Esther said in answer, My prayer and my request is this: KAV: 그때에 에스더가 응답하여 말하되, 나의 청원과 나의 요구가 이러하니이다.
7 Then Esther said in answer, My prayer and my request is this:

8 If I have foundfavour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Hamancome to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.[x]MKJV: if I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet which I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king has said. BBE: If I have the king's approval, and if it is the king's pleasure to give me my prayer and do my request, let the king and Haman come to the feast which I will make ready for them, and tomorrow I will do as the king has said. KAV: 내가 만일 왕의 눈앞에서 은총을 입었고 왕께서 나의 청원을 허락하시며 나의 요구를 시행하기를 기뻐하시거든 내가 왕과 하만을 위해 베풀 잔치에 나아오소서. 내일은 내가 왕의 말씀대로 하리이다, 하니라. TSK: to-morrow: es 6:1-13, pr 16:9
8 If I have the king's approval, and if it is the king's pleasure to give me my prayer and do my request, let the king and Haman come to the feast which I will make ready for them, and tomorrow I will do as the king has said.
8 내가 만일 왕의 목전에서 은혜를 입었고 왕이 내 소청을 허락하시며 내 요구를 시행하시기를 선히 여기시거든 내가 왕과 하만을 위하여 베푸는 잔치에 또 나아오소서 내일은 왕의 말씀대로 하리이다
9 Then wentHamanforth that dayjoyful and with a gladheart: but when HamansawMordecai in the king'sgate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.[x]MKJV: And Haman went forth that day joyful and with a glad heart. But when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he did not stand up nor move for him, he was full of fury against Mordecai. BBE: Then on that day Haman went out full of joy and glad in heart; but when he saw Mordecai in the king's doorway, and he did not get to his feet or give any sign of fear before him, Haman was full of wrath against Mordecai. KAV: ¶ 그때에 그 날에 하만이 기뻐하며 즐거운 마음으로 나왔으나 모르드개가 왕의 문에 있으면서 일어나지도 아니하고 자기를 위해 몸을 움직이지도 아니하는 것을 보고는 모르드개에게 심히 노하니라. 9 이 날에 하만이 마음이 기뻐 즐거이 나오더니 모르드개가 대궐 문에 있어 일어나지도 아니하고 몸을 움직이지도 아니하는 것을 보고 심히 노하나
10 Nevertheless Hamanrefrained himself: and when he camehome, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.[x]MKJV: But Haman held himself in. And when he came home, he sent and called [for] his friends and Zeresh his wife. BBE: But controlling himself, he went to his house; and he sent for his friends and Zeresh, his wife. 10 But controlling himself, he went to his house; and he sent for his friends and Zeresh, his wife.

11 And Hamantold them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.[x]MKJV: And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and his many sons, and all to which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king. BBE: And he gave them an account of the glories of his wealth, and the number of children he had, and the ways in which he had been honoured by the king, and how he had put him over the captains and servants of the king. 11 자기의 부성한 영광과 자녀가 많은 것과 왕이 자기를 들어 왕의 모든 방백이나 신복들보다 높인 것을 다 말하고
12Hamansaid moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.[x]MKJV: And Haman said, Yes, Esther the queen let [no man] but me come in with the king to the banquet that she had prepared. And also tomorrow I am invited to [her banquet], with the king. BBE: And Haman said further, Truly, Esther the queen let no man but myself come in to the feast which she had made ready for the king; and tomorrow again I am to be her guest with the king. 12 And Haman said further, Truly, Esther the queen let no man but myself come in to the feast which she had made ready for the king; and tomorrow again I am to be her guest with the king.
12 또 가로되 왕후 에스더가 그 베푼 잔치에 왕과 함께 오기를 허락 받은 자는 나 밖에 없었고 내일도 왕과 함께 청함을 받았느니라
13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I seeMordecai the Jewsitting at the king'sgate.[x]MKJV: Yet all this avails me nothing as long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. BBE: But all this is nothing to me while I see Mordecai the Jew seated by the king's doorway. KAV: 그러나 유대인 모르드개가 왕의 문에 앉은 것을 내가 보는 한 이 모든 일이 내게 아무 소용이 없도다, 하니라. 13 But all this is nothing to me while I see Mordecai the Jew seated by the king's doorway.

14 Then saidZeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fiftycubitshigh, and to morrowspeak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thingpleasedㆍHaman; and he caused the gallows to be made.[x]MKJV: And Zeresh his wife and all his friends said to him, Make a wooden [gallows], fifty cubits high and tomorrow speak to the king that Mordecai may be hanged on it. Then go in merrily with the king to the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman, and he caused the wooden [gallows] to be made. BBE: Then his wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, Let a pillar, fifty cubits high, be made ready for hanging him, and in the morning get the king to give orders for the hanging of Mordecai: then you will be able to go to the feast with the king with a glad heart. And Haman was pleased with the suggestion, and he had the pillar made. KAV: ¶ 그때에 그의 아내 세레스와 그의 모든 친구가 그에게 이르되, 당신은 높이가 오십 큐빗 되는 교수대를 세우고 내일 왕에게 말하여 모르드개를 거기에 매다소서. 그 뒤에 왕과 함께 즐거이 잔치에 나아가소서, 하니 하만이 그것을 기쁘게 여기고 교수대를 세우게 하니라. 14 그 아내 세레스와 모든 친구가 이르되 오십 규빗이나 높은 나무를 세우고 내일 왕에게 모르드개를 그 나무에 달기를 구하고 왕과 함께 즐거이 잔치에 나아가소서 하만이 그 말을 선히 여기고 명하여 나무를 세우니라
